Review : Moo Gourmet Burgers

232 King Street
Newtown

Mon to Sun 11am - 10pm

Well might you ask "does Newtown really need another gourmet burger joint"...what with Burger Fuel and Burgerlicious also sharing a King Street address.
It would seem that the answer is....

a resounding YES. On the occasion of our visit very early on a Friday night Moo Gourmet Burgers was packed with no tables on offer....takeaway was in order.

I chose the BLACK & WHITE BURGER. 100% Certified Australian Black Angus beef, mixed leaf lettuce, tomato, fried free-range egg, mozzarella cheese, home-made mayonnaise & tomato relish. As if it wasn't big enough, I also asked for some extras, Beechwood smoked bacon & grilled onions.
The burger was delicious (though very difficult to eat), the bun was fresh & light, the beef patty thick & juicy and all other ingredients were plentiful...at $16.50 (including extras) it was an absolute bargain.

Buggles opted for the BEEF AVOCADO & BACON BURGER. 100% Certified Australian Angus beef, avocado, Beechwood smoked bacon, mixed leaf lettuce, tomato, home-made mayonnaise & tomato relish. This was another winner, but I feel in may have been too much for Buggles...she couldn't finish it.

To accompany the burgers we order a serve of chunky home-style chips each....bad move, one between two would have been more than enough. The chips were really quite good, but I will stop short of saying they were hand cut. I'm not sure if they are or not.

All in all the meal was a winner & we will definitely be back.

great to hear they're good. i want to try the one in coogee. the burgers do look overly huge though and hence why they're more expensive than you normal burgers i guess. are we becoming a fat nation?! with all this supersized food which we can't finish :-)
